CHS Bargaining Update #21

TO: All Members of CWA Employed by Catholic Health
FROM: The Bargaining Committee
RE: Bargaining Update #21
DATE: September 10, 2025
Today the bargaining committee received a package proposal on 13 articles, 12 of those articles were side table. While we appreciate the package proposal from Catholic Health everything was contingent to us agreeing to their language on ESL.
The language that was proposed is that you must exhaust any PSL time you have left from your PTO bank when using ESL for short term illness or injuries which do not qualify for NYS Disability or NYS Workers’ Compensation. The employer’s proposal would require you to exhaust your PSL. Not only will you burn through your PTO faster, but you would be in greater jeopardy under the Employers Attendance and Tardiness proposal. The Union has not agreed to this proposal.
These are the type of proposals that are keeping us at the bargaining table and creating roadblocks to reaching an agreement. Just know that the bargaining committee is committed to continuing fighting for our members, each and every one of you!
