Take Action: Stop Kaleida’s Service Closures

To the members of CWA Local 1168,

Kaleida Health has announced the upcoming closure of several critical facilities that our patients, families, and members rely on every single day:
    •    Buffalo Therapy Services at 705 Maple Rd.
    •    DeGraff Wellness Center Therapy Services
    •    Kaleida Family Planning Clinic at 1100 Main St.

These facilities provide specialized, irreplaceable care: lymphedema therapy, PT/OT/speech therapy for stroke and neurological recovery, and vital reproductive and preventive health services. Their loss will mean longer delays, more travel, and impossible burdens on patients — many of whom are already struggling. It also means fewer union jobs and greater inequities in healthcare across Western New York.

We cannot allow this to happen. Federal funding cuts may have created pressure, but New York State has the responsibility and power to step in and protect these services. That’s why we are calling on every member to act now.

Here’s what you need to do:
    1.    Call Governor Hochul at 1-518-474-8390.

Tell her office:
“My name is [your name]. I live in [your town/city]. I am calling to tell Governor Hochul that the closures of Buffalo Therapy Services, DeGraff Wellness Center, and Kaleida Family Planning must be stopped. Eliminating access to these programs would create gaps in care that cannot easily be replaced, leaving patients and families without the support they need.”
Share your personal story if you or your loved ones have used these services.

    2.    Send an email to Governor Hochul.
Use this link, which is also on the attached flyer to send your message directly. Be sure to describe how these services make a difference and what their loss would mean for you, your patients, or your community.

Every call and email increases the pressure on Albany to act. We need to flood the Governor’s office with our voices — because together, our voices cannot be ignored.

This is our moment to defend quality healthcare, protect union jobs, and demand accountability. Please take action today.
