Update regarding the current status of CHS Bargaining
In an effort to keep everyone informed please read the below memo that received by both sides of the table from Tim McNamara the mediator that is working with both parties during Catholic Health Bargaining and our members at Saint Joseph's Campus.
The mediator has recommended the following:
Since you were unable to reach a Tentative Agreement by midnight Friday or early this morning and in an effort to avert a work stoppage I am recommending the following:
1. The parties cease bargaining and agree to a cooling off period beginning now and ending at 8:00 am Monday October 06, 2025.
1. The communication blackout agreed to on Thursday September 25, 2025 remains in effect during the cooling off period.
1. The parties agree that there will be no work stoppage (strike or lockout) or 10 Day Notice filed to strike or picket during the cooling off period. Relatedly, the parties should consider extending the collective bargaining agreement through Saturday October 11, 2025.
1. The parties agree to a joint communication or a separate communication worded the same stating that the mediator has called for a cooling off period and as a result negotiations are temporarily suspended and will resume Monday October 6, 2025.
In Solidarity,
Brian Magner, RN
President CWA 1133
