CWA Local 1168 Temporary Administration - Update #4
Update on Charges & Trials
We understand that members have questions about the pending charges and the ongoing process. At this time, there are limits on the information we can share while these matters move forward. We understand how important communication is to our membership, and we are committed to sharing information as the process continues.
- Charge #1 (Charge against Patrick Weisansal) is pending for trial.
- Charge #2 (Charge against Mary Nowocien) is pending for trial.
- Charge #3 (Charges against Cori Gambini and Bob Andruszko) are currently being investigated.
- A national trial panel has been selected and we are waiting for potential trial dates. This national trial panel will consist of elected CWA trial panel members from outside of CWA 1168 and CWA District 1.
For additional information and answers to frequently asked questions, please see our FAQ from July.
Accountant Investigation
The accountant's investigation is nearing completion, and we anticipate receiving the final report within the next 2–3 weeks. Once we receive the final report, we will provide an update to the membership.
Thank you for your continued patience, understanding, and engagement throughout this process. We recognize that these issues are important to our members, and we remain committed to keeping you informed.
Update from Denise Abbott on Time & Attendance Terminations
We have recently seen an increase in terminations related to time and attendance. Many of these disciplines are related to unknowingly exhausting benefit time like PFL and FMLA. Make sure to track your utilization to avoid getting on the discipline track. Here are some key things that you should know:
- Time for these programs is based on a rolling calendar year. This does not reset at the beginning of each year or when you reapply for them.
- These programs also run concurrently, meaning that all time used in one program will count towards time used in others (W.Comp, FMLA, PFL, Disability).
- You can view your timecard and all time used in Kronos. If you are unsure of the hours that you have available, you should go into Kronos and review your time. You can go back and look at the entire year.
- The law states that employees are responsible for keeping track of their time. If you need additional help tracking your time, look for a paid leave tracker app or use a spreadsheet.
- If you are having difficulty, you can reach out to Integrated Absence for guidance on how to access your information. In addition, you can always call the union office for help.
We are encouraging Kaleida to revamp the Road Map for FMLA and PFL (information packet provided to all employees and available on Kaleidoscope) to highlight usage of these programs. Kaleida is actively working on building into the new INFOR system a way for all employees to view the hours available and the hours used for these programs.
