Local 1168 Day of Action
Bargaining for our next contract is fast approaching, and safe staffing remains a critical issue across all departments—from microbiology labs to medical-surgical floors. To demonstrate our unity and commitment to strong staffing language in our next contract, we are calling on all members to wear red EVERY Thursday and especially on February 27, 2025. This collective action will send a clear message to Kaleida Health administration that safe staffing cannot wait. Wearing red on Thursdays is a long-standing CWA tradition, honoring a member who lost his life on the strike line. In that spirit of solidarity, we encourage everyone to wear their Standing Up for Patient Care red t-shirt, a red scrub top, or red scrub pants on February 27th to show that we are serious and united in our demand for safe staffing. If you do not have a Standing Up for Patient Care t-shirt, please fill out this form - T-Shirt Sign Up. A limited supply will be available for pick-up at the following locations and times: Buffalo General Medical Center (BGMC): (Near Tim Hortons)
Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital (Outside the Cafeteria):
If you cannot make it on these days to pick up your shirt please email [email protected] and we will work on alternate arrangements for you to pick up a shirt.
Let’s stand together and show that safe staffing and a fair contract is non-negotiable! |
