Red Cards Initiative

We're launching a new program to support our members, patients, and the entire community during these incredibly unprecedented times. As part of this effort, we are providing Know Your Rights Red Cards — a simple, powerful tool you can carry with you and share with others to help assert your constitutional rights in real-world situations.

What Are Red Cards?

Red Cards are wallet-sized cards containing key legal rights information that can be presented during interactions with law enforcement or government officials. They are designed to help people — regardless of immigration statusunderstand and assert fundamental rights protected by the U.S. Constitution.

Why These Cards Matter

Many individuals and families face stressful situations where they may not know their rights or feel confident asserting them. Red Cards:

  • Help people exercise their rights in encounters with authorities like federal agents.
  • Provide clear, easy-to-use language that can be shown when needed
  • Are available in multiple languages, making them accessible to broader communities.
  • Do not provide legal advice for individual cases, but do offer general guidance everyone should know.

Who Can Use and Share Them

These cards are available to everyone — members, patients, neighbors, friends, and community partners. You can:

  • Pick up cards for distribution from our location or at designated community events.
  • Share cards with anyone who might benefit from knowing their rights.
  • Encourage local organizations, clinics, and support networks to help spread the word.

How to Use the Cards

Red Cards are meant to be presented when relevant, such as:

  • During an encounter with law enforcement or immigration officials.
  • When someone is unsure of what they’re legally required to do or say.
  • At community outreach events to raise awareness about civil liberties.

(See the card itself for exact wording — the message is designed to be respectful, concise, and clear.)

Available in Multiple Languages

To ensure accessibility and understanding, these cards are offered in dozens of languages, so people who speak different languages can all benefit.
