SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE TO MEMBERS

WNY Council of the Communications Workers of America, E.J. Mays Scholarships

Scholarships awarded to CWA members, their spouses, children, or grandchildren of active, retired, laid-off or deceased CWA members may apply who are attending or planning to attend college.

Applications are available in the fall.

Union Plus Scholarship Program

One-time case awards ranging from $500-$4000 for undergraduate study.

Open to union members, their spouses and dependent children.

Applicants evaluated based on academic ability, social awareness, financial need and appreciation of labor.

A short essay must accompany the application.

CWA Joe Beirne Foundation Scholarships

CWA members, their spouses and/or the sons, daughters or grandchildren of CWA members (active, retired, laid-off or deceased) may apply.

No speciffic studies are required.  May be underdraduate or graduate work.

Winnes chose by lottery drawing.

Applications accepted online.

Applications acceted during the months of November through April, must be postmarked no later than April 30th.
