Another Successful Picnic for CWA 1168

The Picnic was held on Saturday July 31, 2010
2,300 Members and Families took advantage of the great discounted rate and the warm sunny weather at this years celebration. The feedback from members has been very positive. Many liked the warm weather and the Saturday date this year.

The Informational Picket St Joseph Campus

Thanks to all who came out to support the Service Employees at Sisters of Charity Hospital, St Joseph Campus on April 29, 2010.

During an informational picket held by CWA (Communications Workers of America) Local 1168 in support of 300 newly-Unionized Service Workers employed at the St. Joseph Campus of the Catholic Health System (CHS)/Sisters of Charity Hospital in suburban Cheektowaga - who are attempting to negotiate their first Union contract - a high-ranking official from CWA District 1 in New York City put the current situation in perspective: "It's my belief the Catholics should act like Catholics and not do the things they're doing here." read more from WNY Labor Today
